Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus helps us focus on the passion and death of Christ, and thus on his great love for us. Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus contains nine meditations and prayers written by St. Alphonsus Liguori that honor this devotion. It is includes includes an introduction to the devotion as well as a closing prayer, and is a careful translation of St. Alphonsus’ work.

Because of St. Alphonsus’s great love for Jesus Christ, he was especially fond of this novena to the Sacred Heart. He wrote, “Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is an exercise of love toward our loving Savior. Therefore, the principal object of this devotion, the spiritual object of this devotion, is the love with which the heart of Jesus is inflamed toward all.”
